In this video, Dustin Atwood, ASE Certified Mechanic and General Manager of Seeburg Service Center, discusses how you should and should NOT deal with your car’s A/C problems.
When the HVAC system in your car isn’t working the way it’s supposed to, the common assumption is that it just needs freon, otherwise known as refrigerant. Sometimes that is true, but what do you do when you add freon, then it leaks out?
There is a product that you should NEVER buy and is commonly sold at big box stores like Walmart. One of the brand names is Stop Leak, but there are several others. Any product in a can that
purports to solve your auto air conditioning problems by sealing the system and preventing leaks should not be used. Not only does it not work, it ultimately causes severe damage to very expensive components in your car’s A/C system. It also damages our high-tech equipment that we have invested in.
